This song brings back a myriad of wonderful memories. Stuart MacLean (the musician, Bass Player on this song), Chris Pompetti (Drummer) and myself (Guitar/Voice), would regularly get together in my office, early morning and have a chin wag together, over coffee and a breakfast bite. When the time seemed right, we'd saunter down to the "Demo Studio" in the new music building at Prairie College, in Three Hills, Alberta. Nestor Rivera would show up shortly after this and help us with Engineering and bumping the bar up, by saying "I think we should try it once more". Great counsel that I believe paid off big. There's another song from these sessions called "The Mystery". I hope to make it available as well, soon.
We're hoping this Master of "How" will be included in our soon coming 7 song EP "Romans 10". Much thanks to Glen Moore for the drum tracks and Bonnie Lee Bylsma (our Daughter), for the Intro & Ending Vocals. Arranging & Mixing encouragements came from Larry Vollens and Amber-Lynn Yourk (our Daughter).
This will be the 4th Scripture Song Album I have released, and the first album included in my Bandzoogle Website. Romans Chapter 10 has been such a critical and personally pivotal section of scripture, dating back to the establishing of making a stand of restoration in my marriage with Jennifer. You may notice that I trickled ever so slightly in the first part of verse one, of Romans 11, as I felt it addressed so specifically, the end of Chapter 10. I will give credit to my first pastor Glenn Duncan, for his encouragement to read on past the end of the chapters as in the original languages, there were no chapters.
The help that I had for this album dates back to the mid 1990s, when recording "The Word Is Nigh Thee" at Bob Hamilton's studio in Whitehorse. My son Jason join me on that trip (with his fiddle) and Andrea McColeman helped as well with her lovely accordion work.
Most of the rest of the recording has happened in this past year. How: Glen Moore (drums), my daughter Bonnie Bylsma singing. But The Righteousness & Who Has Believed: Wade Dupont (Drums) & Alan Forseth (Bass) Brethren, My Heart's Desire: Wade Dupont (Drums) The other parts were played by me.
A sweet little curio is "Call Upon Him" which is simply a spontaneous vox memo, quietly done one morning (not wanting to wake up my wife Jennifer), and adding a couple of tracks after getting a metronome set up through Beat Detective, that followed the original tempo of the vox memo.
