Ed Yourk

This vocal was done on my iPhone one morning, trying to be quiet on the couch, but sensing I had an idea that I needed to save. When eventually grabbing my guitar, I realized that the raw vocal, by itself, stayed quite closely in the Key of B. I was surprised, and eventually decided to create a metronome, that would follow the "rubato", of the ever changing tempo of the voice, using Beat Detective, in Pro Tools. This enables me to put virtual instruments and other clips of sound that will line up to the "rubato" tempo, of the voice. This is a first for me, and I was excited when I first heard of Beat Detective, and using it like this, was something I want to share with others.
